Microsoft today officially launched the new Autofill solution, which lets users easily store and manage their website passwords across different devices — including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows PCs, and Android phones.

- Microsoft’s mobile Authenticator app now works as a password manager. It can autofill passwords on iOS or Android, and passwords will even sync to Google Chrome.
- Note: If you are already using autofill on Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account, we recommend signing into Passwords tab inside Authenticator app with the same Microsoft account. This will ensure your autofill data stays in sync between Microsoft Edge and your mobile device.
Autofill was already available as part of a beta program, but now Microsoft is making the tool available to all users through the Microsoft Authenticator app, a Google Chrome extension, and also Microsoft Edge. Just like iCloud Keychain, Microsoft Autofill stores your passwords and makes it easy to enter them on websites.

The method to copy your AutoComplete list from one computer to another depends on what type of email account you've added to Outlook. If you have a Microsoft 365 account, Exchange Server account, or an IMAP account (this is the most common type of other email account), then the AutoComplete list is stored as a hidden file in your Outlook Data File. To manage your Card and autofill fields in Edge go SettingsAdvanced SettingsAutofill set'tings. Turn 'Save form entries' on or off to enable/disable autocomplete. Important: If you have any third-party browser extensions installed in Edge that autofill forms or passwords, you should turn the built-in Edge form filler OFF. You can set up Microsoft Edge autofill settings the way you want to enter your name, address, and other information in forms online. With this data, Edge autofills forms quickly and easily. Microsoft Edge is only available for Windows 10. Other versions of Windows come with Internet Explorer and support third-party browsers like Google Chrome.
Autofill stores your passwords under your Microsoft account. To get started with autofill on mobile, open the Microsoft Authenticator app, and then sign-in on the Passwords tab with your Microsoft account. If you have passwords saved under your Microsoft account on Microsoft Edge, they will sync to the Authenticator app.
If you’re on a Mac, Autofill can be used through the Microsoft Edge web browser or with a Google Chrome extension. Users coming from other password managers can import them into Microsoft Autofill using a CSV file. In iOS, the app also lets you protect your passwords with a PIN code, Touch ID, or Face ID.
The Microsoft Authenticator app is available for free on the App Store. It requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 11 or later.

Like most other modern browsers Microsoft Edge has been capable of automatically filling out data (like login credentials for example) on sites for months but it was limited to user credentials and only partial form entries, which was a bummer. However, let it never be said that the memes of Edge being a slowpoke are true because beginning with version 1803 of Windows 10, the ME has been steadily introducing autofill improvements to make our browsing experience much more smooth and enjoyable.
In its latest incarnation, Microsoft Edge can store and manage payment card data to fill in payment details faster and more accurately in addition to the ability to automatically fill passwords and partially fill form entries.
How to enable and control autofill settings in Microsoft Edge.
The first thing you need to do to gain entree and alter ME's autofill settings you have to do the following steps:
- Launch Microsoft Edge and enter its main menu.
- Select Settings.
- Find 'Advanced settings,' and press the 'View Advanced settings' button.
- From there just scroll down, and you'll see the 'Autofill settings' section, you can control autofill related settings for passwords, form entries, and credit cards.

How to Configure saved passwords settings in Microsoft Edge.
From the settings, you can choose to enable or disable Edge's autofill for passwords and stop the prompt for saving a new password for a site from appearing every time. You can disable the save passwords feature by turning off the 'Save passwords' toggle.
How to manage stored passwords.
If you want to manage your passwords then press the 'Manage passwords' button. On your settings page, you can see all your saved passwords and the sites you selected to never save the password. If need to change the data on a specific entry, select the entry and modify the login credentials as you see fit and then click the Save button.
In the event that you want to delete a saved password, or you want to get rid of an entry from the 'Never Saved' list, then simply right-click the entry and press the Delete credential button.

Microsoft edge can fill out all the long boring forms that you don't want to bother with or simply don't have time for. You can choose what kind of information gets automatically filled or could disable it entirely if you want to.
If you wish to turn off the form entries function, simply click on the Save form entries toggle switch.

If you want to manage your saved form entries on the other hand, then you must press the Manage form entries button. You can view your older saved entries and add new info on the Settings page. Should you need to change a previously saved entry, simply click that entry and modify the data like you want to and press Save. However, If you need to add info in advance then press the Add new button, fill out the form (no autofill here, sadly), and select the Save button again.

Beginning with version 1803 of Windows Microsoft Edge is also capable of saving credit and debit card data, which will let you easily and quickly fill out forms when online shopping. If you want to disable a given card you can do it from the settings. The function to store payment cards is automatically enabled so you have to disable it yourself. All you have to do is switch off the Save cards toggle to get rid of the feature it.
How to manage your credit cards.
If you decide you want to add, remove, or modify card information already connected to your Microsoft account, just press 'Manage cards'.
You can add new cards by clicking the Add card button. Enter your first and last names, the specific card number, its expiration date, and finally select Save. You'll notice there's no option to store the CVV code. It's a security measure and you'll have to enter it manually each time. On the other hand, if you want to delete a card simply press the Delete button.
Should you decide that you need a card synced to your Microsoft account to be accessible in Microsoft Edge, you will have to turn on the Microsoft Pay toggle.
